Osimhen sends emotional message to departing Napoli teammate

Napoli Forward, Victor Osimhen is disappointed to see his Belgian teammate Dries Mertens, leave the club this summer.

Mertens announced his departure from Napoli a few days ago following the expiration of his contract.

The veteran striker has failed to reach terms with Napoli over a new contract and follows Captain Lorenzo Insigne out of the Club.

Mertens leaves the club after nine years, two of which he spent with Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen commented on a video of the player posted by a Napolitan, who goes by the name Lady Mertens, and said he will surely miss the player.

“One of the greatest I’ve ever worn this shirt.

“A legend and beyond! A true tutor, a brother, a friend, I appreciate all your motivations, your advice, your jokes, everything about you is unique, I hope to see you again my friend,” He said.

With Mertens and Insigne gone, Osimhen automatically becomes Napoli’s most important forward.
