Osimhen ruled out of UCL clash against Ajax

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will miss Napoli's UEFA Champions League clash against Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday, October 4, as per reports.

The 23-year-old has been on the fringes after he sustained a severe hamstring injury against Liverpool during their Champions League opener on September 7.

According to the latest reports, the Nigerian international will not be available for selection when Luciano Spalletti's men travel to Amsterdam to take on the Eredivisie Champions.

Earlier reports indicated that the ex-Lille striker could come off the bench against Ajax.

Also, the Super Eagles striker returned to training last week, fuelling rumours of his imminent return to the pitch.

It appears the Super Eagles striker will have to wait for Saturday, September October 8 when Napoli take on the newly promoted Cremonese in the Serie A.

Napoli Magazine reports that Osimhen is close to total recovery, but the club has decided not to risk him in their game against the Dutch champions.

Osimhen has so far missed four games for Napoli since his injury.
