Osimhen promises goals ahead of Guinea-Bissau clash

In form Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has promised to bang in the goals ahead of Nigeria's clash with Guinea-Bissau in the Nations Cup qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of Friday's encounter at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the 24-year-old assured fans that the team is poised to go all out to win all three points.

Osimhen, however, noted that the Super Eagles will not underestimate the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.

“We are looking forward to the game and I’m happy to be back in the squad it is an amazing feeling, and I am really expecting an amazing result in the two-legged games, the Napoli Starman told NFF TV.

“We don’t underrate our opponent we want to give them the respect they deserve also as a team.

“I want to promise that we will try everything possible to get the win and of course, I would like to contribute with a lot of goals and a couple of assists of course, the team comes first, and I want to assure that they will give everything to make sure the fans are happy by getting the win and getting qualification to the next AFCON.”

Osimhen will make his first Super Eagles appearance since June 2022 when he scored a double brace against Sao Tome and Principe.

Nigeria currently sit at the apex of Group A with 6 points following wins against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.
