Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the inclusion of either Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen will greatly strengthen his former club.

The Red Devils have seen significant improvement since Dutch coach Erik Ten Haag took over the reins of the club in the summer.

The 20-time Premier League champions are currently 3rd in the Premier League with 5 points behind leaders Arsenal despite a poor start to their campaign.

United are also competing in the Europa League and they will take on Barcelona today(February 23) in the second leg of the round 32 knockout games after the first leg ended in a thrilling two-all draw.

Despite spending a whopping £220m on signings since taking over as club manager, there are some loose bolts in the United setup that still require tightening.

One such key department of the team is the attack which triggers the conversation of who the club should sign next summer between Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Spur's Harry Kane.

Despite favouring the signing of either striker, Man United legend Ferdinand believes a move Victor Osimhen who will be profitable for the club in the long run considering his young age.

“I think if I was talking about investing and looking after my money, I’d probably go for Osimhen,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport

“There’s resale value with his age at 24 years old. It’s gonna be a huge outlay.’

The former English international added that the acquisition of either Osimhen or Kane will make Man United real title contenders.

“I’d take either. I’ve got be honest with you, if Manchester United add either of those two players you mentioned to their roster they become title contenders”, he said.

Osimhen has scored 20 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.

Kane, 29, has also managed 19 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte's side.
