Osimhen not a finished article – Italian manager

Victor Osimhen Victor Osimhen

Former Napoli defender Ciro Ferrara believes that Victor Osimhen still has more room for improvement despite his blistering form for the Naples-based team.

Osimhen was on target again as Napoli beat Udinese 3-2 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday, November 12 in what was their last Serie A game before the World Cup break.

The Super Eagles striker hit the front in the 15th minute after heading home a wonderful delivery from Eljif Elmas.

Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas added two more goals to make it 3-0. But Udinese didn't bow out without a fight as they pecked Napoli back with two consolation goals from Lazar Samardzic and Ilija Nestorovski.

Speaking in a post-match analysis, Ferrara who played for Napoli and Juventus hailed Osimhen's performance, adding that the 23-year-old has significant room for improvement.

“He played well and scored a wonderful and decisive goal once again, he told DAZN

“Osimhen has grown from a technical point of view with Spalletti, but he still has significant room for improvement. The header is the trademark, on the first goal; he freed himself very well on a nice cross from Elmas.”

Osimhen's goal was his 10th of the season across all competitions and his 9th in the Serie A which takes him to the summit of the goal-scoring chart.
