Osimhen needs time to find best form – Napoli boss, Mazzarri

Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has acknowledged that Victor Osimhen is not in his best form at the moment.

Osimhen is yet to rediscover his explosive form following his return from his hamstring injury while on national duty with the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old has failed to find the back of the net in games against Bologna Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

The Serie A champion will square off against Juventus at the Allianz Arena on Friday.

Speaking ahead of the gigantic clash, Mazzarri alluded that Super Eagles striker Osimhen is not yet in his best form.

“Osimhen obviously needs time to find his best form, also in terms of physical conformation,” he told the club's website.

“But it’s clear that even if he wasn’t at one hundred percent, he can still give me great guarantees for the strength he knows how to express, even for portions of matches like he has done so far after returning.”

Osimhen, who won the Capocannoniere last season after netting 26 goals in 31 outings has managed 6 goals in 10 appearances in the current campaign.
