Osimhen is a fighter – Ighalo

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has described his Super Eagles compatriot Victor Osimhen as “a fighter”.

The ex-Manchester United striker has lauded the Napoli hitman for his incredible performances this season for the Spalletti-led side.

Ighalo, 33, believes there are greater heights for the young Super Eagles attacker to attain.

“One thing I know in life is if you put God first, you work hard and you’re humble, you already have everything. I see him doing that and I know the sky is the limit for him. He is doing well and I am not surprised because he’s a good kid and he’s a fighter.” he said.

The Al Hilal striker highlighted some of the top qualities of Osimhen that make him one of the best strikers in the world.

“He can score goals, he can run, he can defend, he can do everything. For me, he is one of the best strikers in Africa now if not the world because he is scoring goes week in week out, and he is a young boy.”

The ex-Watford striker strongly believes that one of the powerhouses of European football will lure Osimhen away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the summer.

“You won’t be surprised if not this January, maybe in the summer, a big team will take him away from Napoli because he deserves it. It’s football and they will get their money right? Everything has a price tag.” he added.

Osimhen's prolific form has caught the eyes of many suitors across Europe.

Napoli's most-priced asset has been linked with a move away to the Premier League with Manchester United considered as a likely destination.

The in-form striker is the leading top scorer in Serie A with 13 goals in 15 outings.
