Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia partnership best in Europe — Former Napoli star

Former Napoli midfielder Giovanni Improta has hailed the partnership between the Napoli attacking duo of Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Nigerian and Georgia International have formed a strong partnership for the Naples-based club this season.

Napoli's explosive form this season can partly be traced to the contribution from the lethal pair of Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia.

The two combined have contributed a stunning 36 of Napoli’s 51 league goals this term.

Osimhen, 24, is the leading top scorer in the Italian topflight with 16 goals plus 3 assists in 17 league appearances.

The 21-year-old Kvaratskhelia has also managed 8 goals and 11 assists in 17 league outings this season.

He is also leading the chart for most assists in the division.

Improta, who played for Napoli and Sampdoria in his heydays has lauded the strong partnership between Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia as the best in Europe at the moment.

“Kravatskhelia and Osimhen form a phenomenal couple,” Improta told Radio Marte, as per Tutto Napoli.

“In my opinion, they are the strongest in Europe, as well as among the youngest and, consequently, the one with there’s incredible room for improvement.

“We’ll see more of it with these two guys in the next ten years, as long as they let us enjoy them here in Naples. Age, physical strength, generosity, altruism: they have it all. They always improve, game after game, even thanks to Spalletti.”

Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia are leading the charge in the Neapolitans' quest to end their over 30-year wait for the Scudetto title.

Luciano Spalletti's side currently sit at the summit of Serie A with a 13-point gap ahead of Inter in second place.
