Oshoala nominated for Women's Ballon d'Or

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has been shortlisted for this year's Women's Ballon d'Or award.

The Barcelona Femeni striker has been nominated for the prestigious award for the second consecutive year.

Oshoala, 28, finished in 16th place last year and was the highest-ranked African female player as her Barcelona teammate Alexia Putellas claimed the award.

Oshoala helped Barcelona to win the UEFA Women's Champions League last season which was their second title in the last three seasons.

The reigning African female footballer of the year was the only African player among the nominees.
