Asisat Oshoala made history by scoring Bay FC's first goal in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) to secure a 1-0 victory over Angel City FC.

Oshoala's decisive goal came just 17 minutes into her debut for her new side.

The 29-year-old forward joined Albertin Montoya's squad from Barcelona Femeni last month, in what was a surprise move to the United States of America.

Having enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona, where she managed an impressive 85 goals in 101 league appearances.

The Super Falcons star clinched the UEFA Women's Champions League title twice, and the Spanish Women's League on three occasions.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool star is the reigning African Women's Player of the Year having clinched the award for a record 5th time.
