Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Club President refutes claims former Man United boss will join them

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be taking charge of Charlotte FC, as stated by the club's president.

In September, rumours were rife that the Norwegian would take over at the young club, with the former Manchester United boss said to be 'very interested' in the role.

The rumours escalated after Solskjaer visited Charlotte FC and DC United, which was most recently managed by another iconic United figure, Wayne Rooney.

However, the MLS franchise's boss, Joe LaBue took to social media to defuse the rumours, saying Solskjaer was only visiting the North Carolina club.

According to the club's president, the former striker has visited ‘many other MLS facilities’.

"To be very clear, Ole visited our facility along with many other MLS facilities last week. It's common and best practice to host people from across the globe, and we'll continue to do so. We're proud of what we've built. End of the story here," he posted on X, as cited by Manchester Evening News.

Charlotte FC is under the guidance of former Manchester City academy boss, Christian Lattanzio, who took charge of the club on an interim basis in May 2022 before getting the job permanently four months later, per MLSsoccer.com.

Under Lattanzio, the North Carolina club has been on a steady upward trajectory and currently sits just off the MLS's final playoff spot.

For Solskjaer, the wait on a return to football management continues, although he claimed recently that he had turned down several offers, including some from the Middle East.
