Former Super Eagles player, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has expressed regret not winning the CAF African Player of the Year Award.

Okocha who played in Turkey, Germany, France and England said he believes he did enough to deserve the award.

“I thought I did enough to have won it because it wasn’t a fluke that I won the BBC POTY twice in a row and didn’t manage to win the CAF awards, may be it wasn’t meant to be", he said.

Recently, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp rated Jay-Jay Okocha’s heart-melting goal against Germany's legendary goalkeeper Oliver Kahn as the most spectacular in the history of German football.

Okocha who starred for German outfit, Eintracht Frankfurt from 1992–1996, destroyed Kahn and the Karlsruher's defence in his first Bundesliga season.

The 46-year-old delayed a clear goal chance to make a fool of the future world-cup finalist, Kahn, and his defence before finding the back of the net.

Speaking decades late on the Teju Babyface Show, Jay-Jay said he intended to dribble them until they eat grass to pay them back for the racial abuses he got back in Germany.

In a chat with the Guardian, Klopp said, “Okocha scored the most spectacular goal in the history of German football. It took like five minutes of Kahn and his defenders diving on the floor before he put the ball in the net".
