Super Eagles legend, Sunday Oliseh has said that the Legendary Rashidi Yekini remains the best striker Nigeria has ever seen.

Reliving the moment he shared on the pitch alongside the legendary goal poacher, the ex-Juventus player revealed that the late legend made the art of assisting look easy.

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder added that Yekini was a striker who was rarely caught in an offside position due to his perfectly timed runs.

The duo played together in the Super Eagles for five years and won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations for Nigeria.

They also played at the World Cup finals in the same year.

The duo teamed up in a scintillating fashion to score some amazing goals for the Eagles.

“He made the art of assist so easy. Because he makes very very good runs; very smart runs – because he was ahead of his time,” Oliseh told YouTube channel ATHLST during the review of his book 'Audacity to Refuse'.

“Most people don’t know about, but Rashidi doesn’t enter too much into the offside position, because of his pre-running.

“Strikers run like this, Yekini runs like this and I drop it there. He was already ahead of his time and his finishing was second to none.

“No other Nigerian striker can come close. He was one of the misunderstood superstars in our lifetime.”

Rashidi Yekini is the greatest goal scorer in Nigeria's history. He is the all-time leading top scorer with 37 goals in 62 caps.

He passed on May 4, 2012, at age 48.
