A section of Nigerian football lovers has taken to social media to celebrate the much-anticipated return of Bayern Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface.

The 23-year-old sustained an adductor injury a few days before the African Cup of Nations in January.

The Nigerian striker underwent surgery after the injury and has been working on his recovery since.

He returned to full training on Monday, March 25 as revealed in a social media post by Bayern Leverkusen.

Following the club's post, some Boniface fans back home in Nigeria took to the comment section to celebrate his return.

Despite being sidelined for two months, Boniface remains the top scorer for the Bundesliga league leaders with 16 goals in 23 goals across all competitions.

The Super Eagles striker will return to Xabi Alonso's team after the international break.
