Santos forward Neymar Jr has expressed his frustration following his omission from Brazil's pre-World Cup friendly squad by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The five-time champions are scheduled to face France and Croatia in international friendlies later this month.
Former Real Madrid manager Ancelotti omitted Neymar from the squad that will be involved in these two crucial matches as the Seleção prepares for the Mundial in the summer.
Explaining his decision to leave out the former Barcelona and PSG forward, Ancelotti cited fitness concerns.
Reacting to the snub, Neymar stated that he is sad and upset but expressed hope of making the final call-up for the global showpiece in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
“I’m upset and sad about not being called up. But the focus remains day after day, training after training, game after game,” Neymar said.
“We are going to achieve our goal. There is still one final call-up left, and the dream lives on. That is it, we are in this together.”
