Ndidi returns to action as Leicester thrash Forest 4-0 in the Premier League

Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi was involved as Leicester City thumped Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the King Power Stadium on Monday, October 3.

The Super Eagles midfielder played the first 45 minutes as Brendan Rodger's side demolished Forest to record their first Premier League win of the season.

Ndidi pulled out of the Super Eagles squad prior to the Algeria friendly last week after he sustained a grade one hamstring injury.

Two goals from James Maddison and a goal each from Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka ensured that the Foxes moved from the bottom of the Premier League.

Ndidi's Super Eagles teammates Awoniyi and Dennis were also in action for the losing side.

Awoniyi started for Steve Cooper's side and was subbed off for Dennis in the 62nd minute.

Ndidi featuring in last night's game has fuelled controversies surrounding his injury. Some Nigerians believe the 25-year-old faked his injury to avoid playing for the national team.
