Ndidi, Simon, Okoye arrive in Portugal as Super Eagles swell to 20 in camp

The quartet of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Nantes winger Moses Simon, Watford goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, and Hapoel Jerusalem shot-stopper Adebayo Adeleye have joined the Super Eagles camp in Portugal.

The arrival of the four has brought to 20 the number of Nigerian players available for head coach Jose Peseiro ahead of the Super Eagles friendly match against Portugal in Lisbon on Thursday.

Earlier on Monday, new Super Eagles invitees, Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel and Boavista’s Bruno Onyemaechi, joined 14 others to open the team’s camp.

Jose Peseiro took charge of the team’s first training as Super Eagles get set to face Portugal for the first time at the international level.

Still being awaited in the Nigerian camp are the trio of Omonia Nicosia’s Francis Uzoho, Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, and Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers.

Dessers was called in as a late replacement for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who withdrew from the game due to injury.

Nigeria’s friendly clash with Portugal Is slated for the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Thursday, 17th of November.
