Napoli will lose him - Osimhen's closest media ally confirms

Popular sports journalist, Oma Akatugba has reacted to the viral video of Napoli mocking striker Victor Osimhen.

According to Oma, Osimhen will likely leave Napoli soon following the video shared on Napoli's official Tiktok account.

The 24-year-old striker missed a penalty at Bologna which meant the Italian champions ended the game in a goalless draw.

This season, he started with the same form, scoring three times in his first two games of the campaign. However, he has fired blanks for the last four games.

His profligacy has inadvertently affected his team, as they have only won one of their previous four fixtures.

Oma, who is close to Osimhen expressed his disappointment at the Serie A club’s action, and he feels the Super Eagles striker is just one step away from Napoli’s exit door.

“What Napoli did is a shame. It is unacceptable, distasteful, ridiculous for a club to do such a thing to not just any player but their best player. The best striker in Italy, a Balon d’Or nominee, in fact, the best player in the Serie A. Just because he failed to score in 2-3 games,” Oma said.

“The consequence of this is Napoli will lose Osimhen. In fact, this is the reason why the player hasn’t renewed his contract.

“Can’t you ask yourself why a player who is supposed to be very happy at your club has refused to renew his contract? Now, it is just one more year to go.

“What is going to happen is this guy who owns Napoli, who sees himself as the El Chapo of football business, will end up losing the player for nothing.

He invested about €70million in Osimhen, but instead of making a profit, he will make nothing.

Osimhen’s contract will expire at the end of the 2025 season, but with the recent development, the Nigerian may refuse to extend his deal. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid were linked with the former Lille man last summer, and they may take advantage of the situation and try to sign him again.
