Napoli targets Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko as potential Osimhen replacement

With their talisman on the wish list of top European clubs, Napoli have identified Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen should the striker exit the club in the summer.

Osimhen, 23, has drawn interest from several clubs in Europe for his remarkable performance since joining the Naples-based team in 2020.

The Super Eagle became the subject of several transfer speculations all summer with links to Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United among other PL clubs.

Outside the English Premiership, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also reportedly interested in the signature of the Nigerian international.

The chase for Osimhen has heightened in recent times following his remarkable performance with Napoli this season, after scoring 10 goals in 14 appearances for the club.

Many have also tipped the ex-Lille striker as a potential replacement for Ronaldo, following the five-time Ballon d'Or winners exit from Manchester United.

However, the club has placed a staggering €100m price tag on Osimhen.

With Napoli unsure of Osimhen's future, the club has identified Austrian striker Sesko as a potential replacement should the Super Eagles striker depart the club in the summer.
