Finidi George was officially unveiled as the new head coach of the Super Eagles by the Nigeria Football Federation earlier today.

His unveiling comes after his appointment on April 29 as the successor to Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro.

The 53-year-old was introduced at the Nigeria Football Federation secretariat in Abuja on Monday, May 13, according to Dailypost.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, Sports Minister John Enoh, and NFF Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.

The ceremony also marked the announcement of the much-awaited backroom staff, who will serve as first and second assistants, goalkeepers' trainer, fitness trainer, and analyst.

Former Super Eagles international Daniel Amokachi will assume the role of first assistant, with Germany-based Nigerian Benjamin James serving as second assistant.

Chima Onyeike will serve as the fitness trainer. Onyeika is Nigerian descent who was born and raised in the Netherlands.

Mehmet Ozturk will work as the analyst, with Olatunji Baruwa completing the list as the goalkeeper's trainer.

The technical team's first official assignment will be against South Africa's Bafana Bafana on June 7, followed by another clash against Benin Republic a few days later.
