Contrary to earlier reports, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to offer Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro a new one-year contract extension as per latest reports.
The new deal will see the Portuguese gaffer lead the Super Eagles for next year's African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
The former Sporting Lisbon manager's current deal expires at the end of this month.
Earlier reports indicated that the NFF are demanding a pay cut from the 63-year-old before they offer him a possible contract extension.
Other reports claimed the federation believes his performance is not up to scratch despite his enormous wages casting doubts on his future with the Eagles.
Many fans and other stakeholders have also kicked against a possible contract extension of his current deal.
Jose Peseiro was hired by Amaju Pinnick in May last year. He has managed 4 wins and 6 loses as coach of the Super Eagles.
