Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has described his daughter as a "special child" who brought peace to him during a challenging time in his life.

Osimhen announced the birth of his first child, a daughter named Haly, born in October 2022.

Speaking on the Obi One podcast, he said fatherhood changed him while stressing that he got the news that he would become a father when he had major challenges with his father.

"Fatherhood has changed me extremely well. It was my first time having a child and when I got the news it was an overwhelming feeling for me. I thought it would take longer but God gave me her because in the midst of the good news I was having some challenges with my family members at that time."

"It was really a big problem before my girl broke the news that she was pregnant and I was really ready. These gave me some sort of ease in going through life problems with my family members."

"For me, this child is a special child because God gave her some peace to bring to me it was kind of depressing at that time."
