Most Valuable Strikers: Oma Akatugba explains why Osimhen should be ranked ahead of Mbappe

Foreign-based Nigerian Sports journalist, Oma Akatugba has faulted transfermarkt latest ranking on the world's most valuable strikers.

The highly regarded football site which focuses on player transfers and market value named Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Paris-Saint Germain's Kylian Mbappe, Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan as the five most valuable strikers in the game.

Norwegian international, Erling Haaland and France captain Kylian Mbappe share the same market value of 180 million euros.

Nigeria's Victor Osimhen follows in third place with an estimated market value of 120 million euros.

Oma in an interview with TVC news faulted the ranking as unfair as he believes the Napoli talisman should be ranked ahead of the PSG star.

He explained that Victor Osimhen propelled an average Napoli side to their first Scudetto title in 33 years while Mbappe played in a star-studded PSG team.

He added that the Italian Serie A is more competitive than the French Ligue 1 making Osimhen who netted 26 league goals last season a better striker among the two.

In a nutshell, he concluded that it is more difficult to win with Napoli than Paris Saint Germain.
