Ministerial List: Wike tipped to emerge Minister of Sports

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Idah Peterside believes Nyesom Wike can transform the sports industry in Nigeria if he is giving the nod to lead the Sports Ministry.

Peterside, a veteran in the game says Wike's passion for sports makes him the right candidate for that positon.

He stressed that Wike's passion for sport in the state makes him one of the strongest pillars.

He says it is his "private" prayer for Wike to be Minister of Sports.

"I want to be careful what I say. My former governor Wike is a pillar of sports, maybe that might not fit him but he is a massive massive pillar of sports. What he has done in Rivers concerning sports is out of this world. For me, my private prayer is for Wike to be a Minister of Sports but that might be a lower ministry for him, I don't know," he said in an interview on Channels TV on Friday, July 28.

"I have looked at the list but I hear there are still more names coming out. But Wike is a pillar of sports, he loves sports, and he has done so much for sports in Port Harcourt and I am aware of that. He built academies and took care of the state teams," he concluded.
