Odion Ighalo's Al-Hilal have shown keen interest in signing Lionel Messi from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that will be worth €400 million per year, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Saudi-based club is making great strides in its bid to rekindle the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry in the Saudi Professional League.

Messi's two-year deal at PSG expires in the summer and he is yet to agree to new terms with the French champions.

A return to Barcelona could also be on the cards for the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner with his former club lurking around the corner despite their financial woes.

The World Cup winner is also being courted by MLS side Inter Miami.

“Understand Al Hilal sent an official bid to Leo Messi: salary worth more than €400m/year,” the transfer market expert, Romano wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Leo’s absolute priority: continue in Europe.”

According to reports, it is highly unlikely for the 35-year-old to continue at PSG when his contract runs out.
