Messi or Ronaldo: Bukayo Saka reveals his football idol

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has revealed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo growing up as a young footballer.

The 22-year-old in an exclusive interview with Arsenal's official website disclosed that he used to emulate the Portuguese international when he was a kid.

“The older I got, the more I fell in love with football. I played a lot but watched a lot of football too. I used to love Cristiano Ronaldo,” Saka was quoted by Arsenal’s official website as saying.

“A lot of other kids my age used to love watching him as well. The different things he could do on the pitch, his skills. The way he took free kicks, too, I think a lot of us used to try to emulate that.”

Saka has been remarkable for Mikel Arteta's side this season. The England international has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists for the Gunners in 36 league appearances.
