Chelsea could parade an unrecognisable squad in their first game of the season following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine took charge of the club officially this summer, succeeding Graham Potter, who was sacked back in February after a string of poor results.

Pochettino has since embarked on a massive summer overhaul that has seen a number of high-profile Chelsea stars shipped out.

Masson Mount, Kai Havertz, and Mateo Kovacic headline a list of more than 20 players who have left Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

Chelsea to make new signings

The departures at the west London club could be marked with new arrivals, with Pochettino keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

According to The Sun, the Blues have already acquired the services of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. With a month of the transfer window still to go, the publication reports Chelsea could add even more new faces.

It has been claimed that Paris Saint-Germain wantaway hotshot, Kylian Mbappe, is among the top players who could join the Premier League giants.

Football London claims the Frenchman could reunite with Pochettino on loan at Stamford Bridge after he recently turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal.

Brighton goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, is the other player who has been linked with a possible Chelsea move. Other players who could move to the EPL side include Moses Caicedo and Axel Disasi.

How Chelsea could line up

The possible arrival of Mbappe and co could see Chelsea parade an almost unrecognisable on the first day of the season.

Sanchez would be sure to start between the sticks ahead of Kepa, with Disasi partnering with Levi Colwill at the heart of the defence.
