Mane suspended for punching Leroy Sane in the dressing room

Bayern Munich has suspended Senegalese international Sadio Mane following a bust-up with Leroy Sane aftermath of their UEFA Champions League defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday, April 11.

According to reports, the ex-Liverpool man punched the former Manchester City winger in the face following an altercation in the dressing room after the game.

In a statement, the club announced that the reigning African Footballer of the Year will face a one-match suspension in addition to a fine.

“Sadio Mane, 31, will not be in the FC Bayern squad for the home game against 1899 Hoffenheim next Saturday,” Bayern said.

“The reason is misconduct by Mane after FC Bayern’s Champions League game at Manchester City.

“In addition, Mane will receive a fine,” they added.

The Bundesliga title holders lost 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium courtesy of goals from Rodri, Bernado Silva, and Erling Haaland.
