Manchester United snubs Garnacho, hand iconic number 7 shirt to Mason Mount

Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea on a five-year deal.

The England international joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £60 million ($76m).

The club has handed Mount the iconic number 7 shirt which was last worn by Cristiano Ronaldo.

This has raised eyebrows among fans as many tipped the Argentine youngster Alejandro Garnacho as the heir to the jersey.

Other great Manchester United players to have donned the iconic number 7 shirt are Eric Cantona and David Beckham.

Mount has become the latest Chelsea player to officially leave the club this summer following their abysmal performance last season.
