Manchester United ready to break the bank for Osimhen

Victor Osimhen continues to dominate transfer speculations across Europe following his prolific goal-scoring form for Napoli this season.

The Nigerian international has been in explosive form for the Naples-based side who are on course to winning their first Scudetto title in over three decades.

Osimhen has guided Napoli to their remarkable run in the league as they currently sit at the apex of the league table with nine points clear ahead of second-place team Milan.

The Super Eagle striker is also the leading scorer in the Serie A with 12 goals in 14 appearances for Luciano Spalletti's side.

The 24-year-old was the subject of transfer rumours all summer with links to Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United in the English Premiership.

Osimhen was heavily linked to Old Trafford following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, but recent reports suggest that the Red Devils are plotting a mega deal to land the in-form striker's signature in the summer.

United recently signed Dutch striker, Wout Weghorst but not on a permanent basis as his six months contract expires at the end of the season.

Anthony Martial remains the only striker at the club but cannot be relied upon to deliver the needed goals.

This makes the ex-Lille striker the ideal option for manager Erik Ten Haag in the long term.
