Nigerian youngster Maliq Musa has joined Belgian club Zulte Waregem from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ikorodu City.

The Belgian outfit announced the signing of the 18-year-old on Tuesday, August 18 after the youngster successfully passed his medicals with the club.

Musa became eligible to pen a professional contract after turning 18 the day before.

The youngster has been on the Belgian club's radar and was invited for trials where he impressed the club and earned his first pro contract.

De Boeren beat competition from Barcelona and other top European clubs in signing Maliq.

The Nigerian international will begin his new campaign with the club's U-23 side (Jong Essevee) before being gradually integrated into the club's senior team.

Musa made nine appearances for Ikorodu City in the NPFL, registering one goal and one assist for the club.
