Lyon have revealed they have no intention to sell star striker Moussa Dembele in January Lyon have revealed they have no intention to sell star striker Moussa Dembele in January

French side, Olympic Lyon, is confident that want-away striker, Moussa Dembele, is going to remain at the club with Manchester United and Chelsea hoping to sign the Frenchman.

The Frenchman scored 51 goals in 94 games for Celtic before joining the Ligue 1 club in August 2018, and they have announced they have no intention of accepting a bid for the 23-year-old.

The club made their intention to keep hold of Dembele in a statement which reads: 'Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window.

'OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembele.

'The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.'

United would be hoping to make a statement with the Frenchman's signing after losing opportunity to sign Norwegian wonder kid, Erling Halaand who joined Borussia Dortmund from Salzburg days ago

Chelsea on the other hand would be looking to bolster their attack with the addition of Dembele after their transfer ban was lifted

They are yet to spend the £170million they acquired last summer from the sales of players including Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata - DailyMail reveals.
