Lookman thrilled by Atalanta's five-star performance against Salernitana

Nigeria and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has expressed his satisfaction with his side's remarkable performance against Salernitana in the Serie A on Sunday, January 15.

Gian Piero Gasperini's side were too hot to handle for the away side as they battered Salernitana by 8-2 at the Gewiss Stadium.

Super Eagles star, Lookman grabbed a brace to guide his side to a historic win and also moved his Serie A goal tally to 9.

Jeremy Boga, Nadir Zortea, Ederson, Giorgio Scalvini, Teun Koopmeiners and Rasmus Hojlund grabbed the remaining goals for Atalanta as Atalanta set a new club record by scoring 5 goals in the opening 45 minutes for the first time in history.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the ex-Leicester City man hailed his side's performance while expressing his satisfaction with the results.

“We played well( against Salernitana), we were very aggressive in the first half and we pressed high,” Lookman said as per Salernitana news”

“We put great intensity into it, these are three important points. We immediately think about the next one.

“It was important to win in front of our fans. Let’s think match by match, give our best and we’ll see where we get. The championship is long”.

Lookman will hope to maintain his goal-scoring form when Atalanta travel away to Juventus in their next Serie A encounter.
