Liverpool survive Chelsea test to lift PL trophy

The wait is over for Liverpool as they finally lift the Premier League trophy on Wednesday night by serving Chelsea's test in their final home game of the season.

Jurgen Klopp's men had before now confirmed their long awaited trophy but had to wait due to the COVID-19 intervention three months ago to officially claim their prize.

AFter a 30-year wait to cling their firs-ever PL trophy, Chelsea was the only team standing against them and their crown, although a lose won't hamper their joy but their pride was on the line.

Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum put the champions in the driving seat in the first half but Olivier Giroud again gave the Blues something to hold on to before the enf of the first half.

Roberto Firmino restored the three-goal margin in the 55th minute but Tammy Abraham reduced it to two in the 61st minute.

Drama played out in the 73rd minute when Christian Pulisic scared another for Frank Lampard's men who looked like they were going to equalize.

However, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain dashed the hopes of Chelsea in the 84th minute to make it 5-3.

The eight-goal thriller at Anfield also dented Chelsea's chances of qualifying for the CHampions League next season.
