Liverpool could lose Werner to Chelsea, Manchester United

Runaway Premier League leader, Liverpool could miss out on signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner who is open to joining Chelsea or Manchester United, it has been revealed.

According to reports from Sky Italia, the German could move to the Blues or Old Trafford only if Liverpool give up in their attempts to sign the striker.

Werner has been strongly linked to the Anfield side who looked like a possible destination for the German but they now face competition from their Premier League rivals.

Tribal Football reports that all three PL clubs are reluctant to pay the 24-year-old's £49million release clause, currently valuing the player at £30m.

However, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has warned any future move to sign the forward "won't get any cheaper".

Werner has scored 30 goals in all competitions this season and remains under contract at Leipzig until June 2023.
