Lionel Messi: Vincent Enyeama recounts special moment with Argentine legend during 2014 World Cup

Nigerian legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has recounted the special moment he had with Lionel Messi when Nigeria faced Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The former Lille shot-stopper has faced Messi twice at the World Cup, with the first being at the 2010 edition in South Africa, and the second one in 2014.

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper was able to stop the former Barcelona star from scoring in 2010, but couldn't do the same four years later.

Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa scored a brace after Messi had scored twice to give Argentina a two-goal lead.

A late goal from former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo gave the South American team the win over the three-time African champions.

One of the iconic moments of the game was a picture of Enyeama and the Barcelona legend, and the former Enyimba goalkeeper shared what really happened between him and the Argentine legend in the game in an exclusive interview with Sports Brief.

"Nothing much, he speaks Spanish, and I speak English. Real meets real. I didn't understand him, and I bet he didn't understand me too. It was just a mutual football language, mutual football respect," Vincent Enyeama told Sports Brief.
