Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has blamed the 2-0 defeat his side suffered at the hands of Manchester United on referee decisions.

According to the former England international, Manchester United's defender, Harry Maguire, should have been sent off.

“Maguire should have been sent off,” Lampard told British media.

“That’s clear, and that obviously changes the game.”

Maguire went on to sealed the game for the visitors in the 66th minute with a stunning header.

Lampard added, “Decisions like that are crucial.

“That’s a major part of what VAR was brought in for a second viewing, different angles. I don’t get why they aren’t looking at the monitor. It should be used.”

Lampard also questioned the decision of the VAR which ruled out goals from Kurt Zouma and Olivier Giroud.

“The Zouma goal should have stood,” Lampard added.

“Giroud’s goal being ruled out is a bit soul-destroying but it’s the culmination of a few incidents.”
