Kovacic: Ex Chelsea star ‘celebrates’ Palmer’s goal against Man City after Fracas with Jackson

Mateo Kovacic was caught in the moment after Cole Palmer equalised for Chelsea to make it 4-4 in the additional minutes of the second half.

The Blues stood their ground against the best team in the world, Manchester City, and fought hard to take a point from the game even though their performance deserved more.

Chelsea had two former City stars in their ranks; Cole Palmer and experienced winger Raheem Sterling, both of whom scored against their former club.

The Citizens also had a former Blue, Kovacic, who joined last summer for an initial £25 million, per BBC Sports - a fee that could rise to £30mil if some add-on conditions are met.

Kovacic ‘celebrates’ Chelsea’s equaliser

Nicolas Jackson shushed Kovacic

Meanwhile, a melee ensued after Chelsea were awarded a penalty, with many unhappy at Dias’ tackle on Broja, who missed most of last season after a serious knee injury.

As seen in a video shared on X by Londons First, Senegalese striker, Nicolas Jackson squared up to the Croatian midfielder before making a shushing gesture at him.

The Chelsea star scored in his second consecutive game after netting a hat-trick in the 4-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur last Monday.
