Former Super Eagles wing back Christopher Ogbonna Kanu has revealed that the advancements in technology and their introduction to football have made the game easier to play now compared to the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Kanu also praised the impact of technology in football and indicated that the game is now fairer and players don’t get away with mischievous acts like in the past.“

Football is more easier now and the likes of VAR makes the game fairer,” the former Ajax full back stated.

“Technology has changed the game. Imagine when Maradona scored the hand of god at the world cup and everybody moved on.

Can you imagine that happening today?” So, I believe technology has changed all aspects of the game. Even football boots, the training kits, you now have kits that can help tell how many distance you have covered.

It’s not a bad thing, it is a good thing, but, when it was different it was a lot harder, everybody had to fight and sweat and make everything happen.”
