Kanu hails Gunners after 14th FA Cup win

Former Arsenal forward, Nwankwo Kanu, has sent a congratulatory message to the Gunners after their record-extending 14th FA Cup win against London rivals, Chelsea on Saturday.

Kanu, who won the English FA Cup three times – twice with Arsenal and once with Portsmouth – as a player, said the win against Chelsea was the greatest birthday gift from Mikel Arteta’s side after he celebrated his 44th birthday last week.

“Thank you for my birthday cake present @Arsenal,” Kanu tweeted.

The win means that despite Arsenal’s dismal performance in the Premier League, where they finished eighth, the Gunners will feature in next season’s Europa League.

Kanu joined the Gunners from Inter Milan in 1999 for a fee in the region of €6.25m and scored over 28 goals in five seasons for the London outfit.
