Former Nigeria and Arsenal striker, Nwankwo Kanu believes former teammates Patrick Viera and Thierry Henry will be better placed to coach Arsenal than the current boss, Mike Arteta.

Kanu says the duo will do a better job at the Emirates because they understand the expectations of fans in a club like Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta despite a good start to his Arsenal journey failed to deliver at the London club. Fans have also raised concerns about his experience in top-flight coaching.

Arsenal has lost 12 games this season and is currently languishing outside the top six.

Kanu shared the dressing room with Vieira and Henry between 1999-2004 and the trio won numerous titles for North London before he joined West Bromwich Albion.

Speaking at the launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Arsenal v Everton, Kanu said: “I agree with William Gallas that Patrick Vieira would be a good fit as Arsenal’s manager because he’s Arsenal through and through.

“I think the same thing about Thierry Henry. If you asked me, I’d say go and get both of them.

“They’re Arsenal blood and their presence would make Arsenal a better team.” He said.

Kanu, 44, joined Arsenal from Inter Milan in a £5million deal and went to who scored 43 goals in 197 appearances for the Gunners, Brila.net said.
