Emerging reports indicate that Samuel Eto'o who is the head of Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) prefers former Super Eagles coach José Peseiro as the next gaffer for the Indomitable Lions.

The Portuguese gaffer is among a shortlist of three coaches currently under consideration to replace Rigobert Song, as per Bola Narede

The remaining two coaches are Herve Renard and Fabio Cannavaro.

Peseiro left his role as head coach of the Super Eagles after guiding the team to the finals of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager has earlier been linked with the Algerian national team.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is yet to name a substantive head coach to replace Peseiro barely two months since his departure.
