Former Super Eagles players, Austin Eguavoen, Mutiu Adepoju and Ike Shorunmu have applauded the Nigeria Football Federation for organising friendly games against Ivory Coast and Tunisia for the Super Eagles.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick announced on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 that the Eagles would file out against the Elephants on October 9, before facing the Carthage Eagles four days later, with both games taking place in Austria.

“They are good friendly games and I believe our players are going to benefit from them. Both teams are a force to reckon with in Africa,” Adepoju told The Punch.

Shorunmu added, “It’s been long the Eagles were engaged due to the pandemic. So, it is a good development that we will play such quality teams before our upcoming qualifiers.”

Eguavoen expressed delight at Eagles return to action.

“We are all delighted with the gradual return of international matches and hopefully, we are seeing the end of COVID-19,” the ex-Eagles coach said.

“I understand that matches have been lined up and I just want them to prepare well and make Nigeria happy through football.”
