The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) will host Nigeria's U-17 women's team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja following a successful outing at the FIFA World Cup in India.
The Flamingos finished as 2nd runners-up at the just-ended tournament clinching a bronze medal after beating Germany 3-2 in the shootouts.
Coach Olowookere Bankole's team became the first Nigerian side to reach the semi-final of the tournament after beating USA 4-3 in the shootouts in the quarterfinals.
The team also achieved another historic feat by becoming the first African side to win a medal at the competition.
In a statement, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), disclosed that the Presidency will meet the team at a later date.
“The Presidency will host the team at a later date,” the statement read.
The team arrived in the country on Tuesday, November 1.
