Impressive Lookman hits fifth goal of the season

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman scored his fifth Serie A for Atalanta in their 2-0 victory over Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

After falling 2-0 at home to Lazio last week, Atalanta were looking to get back to winning ways when they traveled to the Stadio Carlo Castellani to take on Empoli.

The 25-year-old got into a good position after a great individual run and produced a wicked shot that pierced into the bottom left corner of the Empoli goal for Atalanta’s second at the hour mark. Super Eagles full-back Tyronne Ebuehi was on for 90 minutes for Empoli.

But Cyriel Dessers situation at Cremonese has gone from bad to worse after he picked up an injury during yesterday’s Serie A goalless draw against Udinese.
The 27-year-old, starting his 12th appearance of the season, was replaced after twenty-two minutes, it appeared precautionary, but the player looked like he was in some real discomfort.

In the English Premier League, Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis could not help Nottingham Forest clinch a second successive victory over Arsenal.

The two Nigeria internationals were in action as Nottingham Forest lost 5-0 to the Gunners in a Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium in London yesterday afternoon.
Awoniyi’s efforts to be Nottingham Forest’s hero once again came to nought and was substituted for Neco Williams in the 64th minute.
Meanwhile Emmanuel Dennis who spent 36 minutes on the pitch had 18 touches and no shot to register.

It was not a pleasant return to action for Terem Moffi as Lorient fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Nice in their Ligue 1 clash at Stade du Moustoir.
