Nigerian internationals, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were key to Leicester City's win over Preston North End on Wednesday, October 5.

The Foxes thrashed the Lilywhites 3-0 at the Kings Power Stadium to move top of the EFL Championship table.

The home side struggled to get past Preston's goalkeeper after sixty minutes of play but broke the deadlock on the hour mark.

English midfielder, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall continues his blistering form by opening the scoring after Ndidi's pass was deflected to his path.

Former Manchester City star Iheanacho came off the bench to combine with his fellow Super Eagles teammate to put the Foxes two up, according to Soccernet.

Dewsbury-Hall completed the rout as he added the third goal in the last minute of play before the final whistle. The Englishman pounced on a Iheanacho’s shot that was parried by Preston shot-stopper Freddie Woodman.

Enzo Maresca's side are on a good run in the league as they make it five wins in a row and are two points ahead of second-placed Ipswich Town.

The Foxes will face Stoke City in their next game in the Championship as they hope to extend their lead on top of the league table.
