Ighalo scores after just 5 minutes into Al Wehda debut

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has hit the ground running after scoring just five minutes into his debut for his new side Al Wehda on Wednesday, August 24.

The 34-year-old needed a few minutes to make a good first impression for the Saudi-based club after his superb left strike found the top right corner.

The Nigerian striker started the game from the bench in the 86th minute and scored in additional time as his side sealed a convincing 3-0 win over Al Taee at the Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musa’ed Stadium.

Ighalo joined Al-Wehda from Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Hilal after a successful short spell which saw him score 43 goals in 60 appearances.

Ighalo is likely to make his first start when Al-Wehda take on Al-Ittihad on Monday, August 28.
