Legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been named the greatest African goalkeeper of all time by the IFFHS.

The former Lille shot-stopper topped the list of greatest goalkeepers on the continent by The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

The 41-year-old beat other goalkeeping greats like Joseph-Antoine Bell (Cameroon), Thomas N’Kono (Cameroon), and Essam El-Hadary (Egypt).

Enyeama featured for clubs like Ibom Stars and Enyimba FC locally before securing his first move abroad.

He later plied his trade for clubs like Bnei Yehuda and Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli league before his big move to Lille in French Ligue 1 where he enjoyed the best time of his career.

He holds the record for the most clean sheets (21) in Ligue 1 in a season, a feat he achieved in the 2013/2014 season.

Enyeama was also a key figure in the Super Eagles team from 2002 to 2015. He featured in various FIFA World Cup and Nations Cup tournaments.

He was an integral member of the Super Eagles AFCON winning team in 2013. He won 101 caps for Nigeria.
