Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has disclosed that he will engage the club's sporting director, Deco, on signing a new centre forward following his side's flying start to the 2026/2027 La Liga season.

The Catalan club began their title defence campaign on a blistering note with a 5-0 victory away at Elche on Sunday night.

Raphinha, who was deployed in the number nine role, scored a brace, with Fermin Lopez also registering a brace.

New signing Karim Adeyemi also scored on his La Liga debut to seal a remarkable victory for Hansi Flick's side.

As the end of the transfer window beckons, the German tactician, in his post-match reaction, said: "I will speak to Deco, and we will see. Let's see what happens this week," Flick said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Meanwhile, La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid remain resolute in their decision not to sanction the sale of Julian Alvarez to their La Liga rivals.
