Odion Ighalo has revealed how he was called crazy for having a dream to one day play for Manchester United.

The former Super Eagles player joined Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua on a loan deal which will end at the end of the season.

Since joining the club, Ighalo has scored five goals in seven games one of which was a screamer against LASK in the Europa League last Thursday.

Speaking to beIN Sports on how his dream materialized, Ighalo said, “When you say those kinds of things (about playing for United when he was a child), people say ‘are you crazy?’ because back then you don’t even know what the future holds”.

Shortly after joining the English Premier League side on transfer deadline day, Ighalo told Sky Sports: “It’s been crazy, you know.

“I want to say I am happy to be in Manchester first. It is an excellent opportunity for me.

“I am grateful to God and my agent and to the coach who gave me this opportunity to be here.

“I am happy to work hard with the team and finish very well this season.”

Ighalo added: “It is a dream come true. Since I was a kid, I have always dreamed about Manchester United and all that.

“This is a reality now. I can’t even say much until I get started.”

“Today is to chill because I traveled very long from Shanghai to Manchester.

“Today is just rest, and tomorrow we start to work.”
